Read and Export Reports

Before you start​

Sign in to your tenant. You need readable data and an available published dashboard. A saved reporting-pack draft is not an active dashboard. The available reports, filters and formats depend on the published configuration.

Read a report​

  1. Open Analytics (/analytics) and choose an available dashboard/report.
  2. Select a bounded date range and the filters offered by that report.
  3. Read the headline together with freshness, completeness and warnings. Expand supporting evidence or linked exploration when offered.
  4. Compare unexpected results with the same range in Events. Accepted events can still be processing; Ready data explains readiness.

For example, choose your available activity report, select the last seven days, and filter to production if the report offers an environment filter. You should see canonical values and their coverage state. A partial value is not a complete business total; unavailable data must not be read as zero.

Report links retain only permitted sharing controls. The recipient must sign in and have access to the report. Tenant, subject, free-text and other disallowed state is omitted, so recipients may need to choose their own context.

Export the selected dashboard​

  1. In Executive export, choose one or more offered formats, for example HTML and PDF if both are enabled.
  2. Select Create export once and wait for completion. All chosen formats use one immutable snapshot of the selected query.
  3. Download the completed artifacts and retain their warnings/provenance. Use Cancel export while the job is active if it is no longer needed.

Expected result: completed job status and downloadable artifacts. Queued or running is not completed. Later incoming events do not update an existing file.

Recovery and limits​

  • Missing dashboard: check tenant, permissions and published configuration with your tenant administrator. Draft edits do not immediately change active reports.
  • Invalid or oversized export: correct the filters or reduce the range. PDF defaults to 2,500 rendered rows; overall defaults are 100,000 snapshot rows, 48 datasets and 64 MiB of artifacts. Deployment settings can override these limits.
  • Failed job: inspect its safe error and job ID. Transient failures receive bounded server retries. After terminal failure, submit a new corrected request.
  • Expired job: create a fresh export. Default artifact retention is 30 days; a fresh snapshot may contain different data.
  • SVG/PNG require compiled presentations and dashboard authorization. Do not assume every report supports every format.
